Game Design

Our game design professionals make sure our game experience is fun and engaging! Game designers are responsible for designing our game features, fun gameplay and balancing in-game economies – from concept to implementation. They will monitor features once they are alive to ensure the wanted functionality, design and impact.

Game Designers are the gatekeepers to ensure everything in the game is tuned and works seamlessly together – they work closely with our product managers and data analysts to align game design goals with business goals, and with other stakeholders to test and iterate features and content based on our product vision.

Our Game Designers work either in live games with new features or live operations and in new game development.

Game Art

Metacoreans working on game art have the responsibility to develop captivating concepts and visuals that bring our games to life and entertain our players.

The focus is on leveraging creativity and visual storytelling, all the way from early design phase to marketing and social media channels. Our artists create key art, visual concepts, assets for prototyping and testing, illustrations for user interface and marketing, and closely collaborate with our animation team. They also collaborate with Technical Artists and Programmers to integrate game art to the game engine and troubleshoot technical issues.

Typical roles in Game Art are Visual Development Artist, Illustrator, 3D Artist, Motion Designer, Animator, UI Artist, Technical Artist, and Art Producer.

Game Programming

As a Game Programmer at Metacore, you will be writing code, breaking boundaries, testing and iterating and serving other developers and players through your programming efforts. Game Programmers are part of multidisciplinary teams to see game features being brought to life from pre-production to production, release and beyond, as well as monitor the adoption of features from player data.

We have Game Programmers in live games, as well as in new game teams.

Product, Data & Production

At Metacore, Product, Data and Production work in close collaboration.

Product craft is pivotal in our game development, live ops and monetization, from strategic planning to managing daily operations. Our Product Managers are the connector between game development, design, data and economy within a game team – they ensure developed features meet our objectives and perform effectively. In short, the focus is to monitor the dynamic ebb and flow of our games and identify opportunities to grow our games.

Our data experts make our data-driven approach become reality. Our Data Analysts are responsible for collecting, managing and analyzing data to turn it into insights and action – in the game, as well as our company operations – to help make better and more informed decisions. They also work with machine learning models for various use in the game portfolio, both in live ops and new games development, together with continuously running experiments to iterate game features and improve performance.

In Production, our producers are responsible for leading a multidisciplinary game development team, focusing either on new features or live operations, and the roadmap of the team. They establish clear priorities according to focus areas and business objectives, ensure quality and impact of team’s work and remove blockers. Producers collaborate closely with Product Managers to ensure all teams are working towards our product vision.

Marketing

Marketing is deeply integrated with the game itself at Metacore – our marketing experts work as a part of the game teams, both in Merge Mansion and in New Games. They share the same goals as the whole team, which allows us to make the player experience holistic: from seeing an amazing ad, viewing the app store listing, to first time playing the game.

We see marketing as not limited to advertising or user acquisition, but rather as brand building and storytelling in all the touchpoints. Our audience research and data-driven operations allow us to grow games profitably and turn them into global entertainment brands.

At Metacore marketing, you get to work with brand building, story creation for both the game and marketing narratives, product marketing, community management for our players and fans, performance marketing, marketing creatives, and project management.

Technology

Technology teams at Metacore are responsible for building a scalable tech platform for our game portfolio and ensuring our tech strategy supports games in their different development phases, be it a massive live game or soft launched new game. In addition, we aim to build a world-class player experience with technology and quality assurance.

When working with technology at Metacore, you would be dealing with for example quality assurance of our games, tech services behind the games, infrastructure that holds the fort, or ensuring our information is secure both in the games and at Metacore.

We have technology roles both centralized, as well as within the game teams. Within the game team, tech focuses on backend and infra to support player experience, running and developing architecture and tools, supporting release operations – and of course ensuring the game runs without bugs with topnotch quality assurance. In addition, we have tech roles in our game teams focusing on game programming, bringing game features to life.

Our technical roles help to discover how we can systematically launch new games, enable game teams to focus on core gameplay with tech platforms, and to reduce implementation time of features from months to minutes.

Typical roles in Technology are Backend Programmer, QA Specialist, Test Automation Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Tech Programmer, and Game Programmer.
