We are looking for a Backend Tech Lead to drive the development of Merge Mansion’s backend and infrastructure. Joining the Backend Tech team, you will provide clear direction and a roadmap for development, ensuring the team understands their responsibilities and aligns with our objectives. You'll collaborate closely with our Tech Services team, feature teams, and other departments, fostering teamwork and smooth progress.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the roadmap for the backend of Merge Mansion along with different stakeholders
  • Be accountable for the backend of Merge Mansion, identify and drive different needs to build a secure, stable and scalable game servers
  • Leading the Backend Tech team by providing guidance, mentorship and coaching, and feedback to foster professional growth and effective teamwork
  • Being a manager for Backend and Frontend Developers working in the team
  • Act as the Recruitment Manager for future needs of the team
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including internal multi discipline teams, technical teams and 3rd party service providers
  • Engaging in hands-on development on tasks, projects and fixing bugs as needed
  • Conducting analysis on backend & infra systems
  • Ensuring adherence to code conventions and guidelines
  • Define metrics for success and be accountable for their development

Requirements

  • Proven background in technical leadership roles, especially within experienced teams
  • Solid understanding of Cloud Technologies, especially AWS
  • Experience in developing games or products that have reached scale and are operated live
  • Development experience encompassing backend, frontend, and infrastructure
  • Experience working with Client/Server architectures, stateful and stateless servers.
  • Proficient with C# and .NET, and familiar with web development frameworks such as Vue and/or React and ability to contribute with Javascript/Typescript
  • Commitment to code quality, documentation and testing procedures
  • Well versed with modern infrastructure stack, including technologies such as Terraform, Kubernetes and Docker
  • Great communication and cooperation skills, coupled with strong organizational abilities and a customer-centric approach
  • Previous experience with game development is seen as an advantage
